Uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 and return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003
# Click “Start,” and then click “Control Panel.”
# Click “Add or Remove Programs.”
# Scroll down to "Windows Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3", select it, and then click "Change/Remove".

If you cannot find any Internet Explorer 7 entry in "Add or Remove Programs", run
%windir%\ie7beta3\spuninst\spuninst.exe. (To do this, you need to have "view hidden folders" enabled.)

Uninstalling Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2, Beta 2 Preview, or Beta 1

To uninstall Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2, Beta 2 Preview, or Beta 1 and return to Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP or Windows Server 2003

If you have CCleaner installed in your computer you may have some installation issues as CCleaner will recognise the IE7 BETA as a HOTFIX so the Uninstallation program may have been removed by the software.

Here's the fix.

QUOTE

1. Find a second computer with windows XP SP2 that either already has Internet explorer 7 beta installed or install it yourself by downloading it from the Microsoft website: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

2. Copy the whole directory (about 21 mb) on CD from c:\windows\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe
To view and copy the file, click on show hidden files in explorer under tools then folder.

3. Transfer that directory to the problem computer by copying the folder to its same location -- that is, C:\windows

4. Make sure you have show hidden files on the problem computer. Now click on spuninst.exe, and voila, Internet Explorer Beta 7 will be removed and will be automatically replaced by Internet Explorer 6.

5. Run Windows Update to download any secutity issues to Explorer 6.

You are done!!!

Hi, People

Want to share with you the results of my work. I've discovered that these 3 programs solved my
security problems by using them simultaneously.

1. XoftSpy-SE (the biggest base of detected spyware programs) +
Web-site: ****://xoftspyse.repairandsecure.com/

2. Netcom Internet Security (complete protection from viruses including firewall) +
Found it here: ****://securityandprivacy.triedtool.com/pr...espywarecleaner

3. SpyBot Search and Destroy (the only freeware anti-spyware program!)
Web-site: ****://www.safer-networking.org/

These programs are from the the different manufacturers and they do have different threats definitions bases but in a complex they cover 99.8%! of all known threats. These numbers are taken from the direct comparison of the 18 popular antivirus programs so it can be trusted.

Keep your computers safe! Good luck wink.gif

Mark
